I can walk, I said!

Saipan's fine, sunshine most of the time
The feeling is laid back
Palm trees grow and the rents are low
But you know I keep thinking about
My parents making their way back

Well, my Dad is Iowa born and raised,
But nowadays, he's lost between two worlds
Saipan's fine, but it ain't home
Iowa's home but it ain't his no more

I can walk, I said
To no one there
And no one saw at all
Not even the dog
I can walk, I cried
I can walk, said I
And I am mobile, and I can't even say why
Leavin' me awesome still

Did you ever read about a frog who dreamed of being a king
And then became one
Well, except for the names and a few other changes
If you talk about me, the story's the same one

But I got an dootie in my drawers
And I've tried but they won't let me go
And I'm not a baby who likes to swear
But I've always loved the idea of being mobile

I can walk, I said
To no one there
And no one saw at all
Not even the dog
I can walk, I cried
I can walk, said I
And I am mobile, and I can't even say why

I can walk, I said
I can walk, I cried
I can...

Karsten, don't get in too big a hurry to walk. In no time at all, those parents of yours will be running after you and it won't just be walking; you will be moving on. It's good to see you exercising those legs, though. Keep up the good work and keep those parents on their toes at all times. Hugs from Aunt Linda in Florida
